Qantas industrial action update

Wednesday, 12 October

As a result of planned industrial action by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) on Thursday 13 October, Australian air Express (AaE) and Qantas will once again implement contingencies to minimise disruption to customers. The TWU Action covers Qantas Ramp staff only and does not relate to AaE.

Importantly, there will be NO disruptions to AaE’s Freighter operations. However, despite Qantas’ efforts to minimise their disruption to passenger services during the ALAEA Action, our customers may experience some delays to AaE’s freight services until operations return to normal.

The stoppage is proposed for the following times:

Sydney (excluding SFT1 and SFT2): 1st stoppage: 0600-0800hrs local time 2nd stoppage: 1600-1800hrs local time
Melbourne: 1st stoppage: 0700-0900hrs local time 2nd stoppage: 1600-1800hrs local time
Brisbane: 1st stoppage: 0800-1000hrs local time 2nd stoppage: 1700-1900hrs local time
Perth: 1st & 2nd stoppage (continuous): 1130-1530hrs local time

Should this action go ahead, AaE’s focus will be on minimising disruption to our customers.

We thank you for your understanding and support during this period.
