New South Wales and Queensland operations update

AaE Retail wishes to advise customers that we have re-established normal services in the majority of the flood affected areas across northern New South Wales and far-north Queensland however, due to continued flooding and road closures we are unable to service the following regions:

AaE Retail wishes to advise customers that heavy rainfall and localised flooding in regional Queensland has impacted our operations this afternoon.

Queensland Service Update

Australian air Express wishes to advise customers that heavy rainfall and localised flooding in metropolitan Brisbane and the Gold Coast region has impacted our retail operations this afternoon. Airport-to-airport freighter services remain unaffected.

Service Disruption Notification

AaE Retail customers are to be advised that due to the Australia Day public holiday on Thursday, 26 January there will be no freighter operations on the evenings of Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 January.

Qantas Grounding

As you may be aware, Qantas is now in the process of resuming normal services following the grounding of all its fleet. AaE’s freighter network is still fully operational and is NOT affected by the dispute, however, AaE customers will experience some delays until Qantas operations return to normal on Monday 31 October.

Qantas industrial action update

As a result of planned industrial action by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) on Thursday 13 October, Australian air Express (AaE) and Qantas will once again implement contingencies to minimise disruption to customers. The TWU Action covers Qantas Ramp staff only and does not relate to AaE.

Importantly, there will be NO disruptions to AaE’s Freighter operations. However, despite Qantas’ efforts to minimise their disruption to passenger services during the ALAEA Action, our customers may experience some delays to AaE’s freight services until operations return to normal.

As a result of additional industrial action in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane by the Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) on Monday 10 October 2011, Australian air Express (AaE) and Qantas will implement contingencies to minimise disruption to customers. The ALAEA Action covers Qantas engineers only and does not relate to AaE.

Importantly, there will be NO disruptions to AaE’s Freighter operations. However, despite Qantas’ efforts to minimise their disruption to passenger services during the ALAEA Action, our customers may experience some delays to AaE’s freight services until operations return to normal.

Service Disruption Notification

Mitchell, Canberra ACT
Due to a chemical fire in Mitchell, ACT, all AaE pickup and delivery services have been cancelled. All customer freight will be held at our Canberra depot. Normal services will resume once the area is deemed safe to enter.

Organisational Update

In May, we wrote to you to inform you of some exciting developments underway at Australian air Express (AaE). These developments are about combining the Star Track Express and Australian air Express’ door-to-door businesses to create the largest domestic express service provider in Australia. We are pleased to update you that work is well underway and that from August we will begin to integrate and co-locate our Air freight depots right across Australia. This is all part of leveraging the scale, capacity and service capabilities of both businesses, creating a basis for us to be able to offer you an expanded range of freight solutions to meet your evolving needs.

Service disruption notification

On Saturday, 30 July 2011, police located an Australian air Express contractor’s truck, which had been involved in a single-vehicle accident in Northern New South Wales.

Customers in Tamworth, Narrabri and Moree are advised that delays are expected, however contingency plans are in place to reduce the impact.

Our drivers, contractors and staff at our depots are working hard to maintain normal pickup and delivery services and minimise delays in the effected region.

We appreciate your understanding during this time.
